"You're not stuck because you lack the skills. You're stuck because the map you were given wasn't drawn for you..."

You Know How to Follow a Care Plan. Here's the Business Plan Nobody Gave You.

Dear Karen,

When you decided to build something of your own, did anyone sit you down and walk you through a business plan built specifically for nurses?

Yeah. Me neither.

What we got instead was a pile of generic advice — niche down fast, post every day, hop on sales calls, close the deal. Advice that works fine if you're an extroverted tech entrepreneur who doesn't mind feeling a little pushy.

But you're a nurse. You were trained to assess, plan, and execute within a system that made sense. You were built for precision, for care, for following evidence-based protocols that actually worked.

Running a business with no roadmap? That's a completely different experience. And it's why so many talented nursepreneurs end up stuck — not because they lack discipline or skill, but because the map they've been handed wasn't drawn with them in mind.

This week I wrote something I've been wanting to put into words for a while.

It's about the gap between how nursing trains us and what entrepreneurship actually asks of us — and it introduces the three pillars of the Conscious Nursepreneur Ecosystem, the framework I built to bridge that gap.

If you've ever felt like you were doing everything right and still something wasn't clicking — I think this one will land.

As always, I'm here if something in there sparks a question.
